If you're happy and you know it, shout YIPEE!!

One of our favorite activities during the day, Carly and I, is to sing. I've been singing to her since she was just tiny. And she always gets the biggest grin on her face. Now granted that she doesn't really sing, she loves to do the hand motions. Her favorite song is what she calls, "Spider", otherwise known as the "itsy bitsy spider". She always wants me to sing spider over and over and over again with all the hand motions. She also loves "If you're happy and you know it." Carly can't say "hurray!" so we say "yipee!" (Yes, she can say "yipee" go figure.) She also likes "The wheels on the bus" which she calls "bush". We sing everything from "There was an old woman who swallowed a fly" to "Give said the little stream" to "Never smile at a crocodile." And unlike American Idol, she doesn't care if I sing the notes right or if I make the song my own. It's important that the "sun came up and dried up all the rain" and that "the spider wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her." And some of the best memories I have as a child is singing with my mom and sisters. We would sing in the car all the time and even around the table at lunch time. And when Carly gets older, we'll start on the great musicals, "Meet Me In St. Louis", "Singing in the Rain", "Oklahoma", "My Fair Lady"... (Somewhere Brandon is groaning.) I just think everyone should enjoy and love music in any form but singing your favorite song is the best part!!

Carly is the cutest little girl. I love to hear about her and see if she reminds me of that cute little boy I took care of (a lot) way back when. It's so fun to sing with little ones! It's fun when they can finish the song for you when you stop singing. So cute this little Carly is!

I get sick of singing to Carter... is that bad?!?! But now he's into the Primary CD's which is less tiring than me singing for an hour straight. :) We are coming into town on March 18th and will be there for 6 weeks. We will definately need to have play dates. I don't really know anyone anymore. And everyone I do know works. Plus we are only bringing one car so i'm going to be stranded at home a lot. So, if you have time, let's play.

You are such a good mom! I'm excited for Luke to get old enough for me to know whether or not he even likes my singing. :-) So, Brandon said you guys went to Improv and met Ben Bailey (the cash cab guy ... at least I think that is his name) We went to that same Improv thing in NY. It was so crass but a few funny guys. So, yeah, I know what you mean. Joey was so happy to hear that he had a fellow cash cab friend. Hope you guys are doing well! Only a few more months and we will join you in the ranks for grown ups with real jobs.

I think someone is in desperate need to seeing their Aunt Jessica and Cousin Gus (who cares about Uncle Ben).

A girl I can relate to. The last time I sang in public I ran off the stage to throw up...but I still love to do it in private. Katelyn has the largest collection of music on our itunes account.
